Sense of Independence, located on the trendy Eglinton West Strip, in Forest Hill, Toronto has quickly become the IT place to shop. Since its opening in 2004, this shopping spot has made a name for itself and is a favorite for many celebrities and the who's who of Toronto.

Sense of Independence is always one step ahead of every trend. Owners Naomi and Michelle are constantly travelling between Los Angeles, New York, Canada and Europe to bring you the next big thing. After realizing that shopping for unique clothing in Toronto wasn't an easy task, Naomi Shamash decided to open up a trendy boutique in mid Toronto. With a desire to create a shopping environment that provided unique clothing and accessories, she sought out fresh labels from all over the globe in order to make Sense of Independence a truly unique shopping experience.

In January 2005, after realizing that she spent more waking hours with Naomi scouting brands and in the store than anything else, Michelle, Naomi's sister was brought on board. What started out as a small idea of two young fashionistas with a passion for shopping has turned into something neither of them could have predicted. Their big ideas haven't stopped yet. They look forward to more ventures coming into fruition and for customers to continue to be wowed by their view of life and love of clothing.
